Special Note for the 2024 Application: Our REU-Site grant has concluded at the end of 2023 and is currently pending for renewal. If our program gets renewed in time in Spring 2024, we plan to offer the REU-Site program in the summer of 2024, but it is unclear at this point (12/31/2023). Welcome to the NSF REU Site: Machine Learning in Cybersecurity program home page. In 2023, our REU Site program runs “in-person” from May 22 to July 28 (10 weeks).

This REU Site program is hosted by Penn State University‘s College of Information Sciences and Technology and is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation (#1950491)

Our REU Site program recruits a group of talented research-oriented undergraduate students and engage them in 10-week-long intensive research activities in the theme of “Machine Learning in Cybersecurity,” closely mentored by PSU faculty members.
